Committee Member: "I Can't Unhear These Speakers..."

Shelter Baptist Church is a Gospel-centered, disciple-making community, committed to knowing Christ. The Church was officially established in 1987 although the group has informally existed since 1978.

Over a period of some years, under the guidance of a Southern Baptist missionary couple, the group kept growing and became increasingly a part of Cherith Baptist Church. Baptized members of Shelter Fellowship became members of the church.

Then in March 1984, Shelter’s leaders and members met to deliberate on the matter of becoming an independent church. After much counsel, prayer and preparation, it was finally decided in December 1985 that Shelter become a new church.

With the blessings of Cherith Baptist Church and the approval of the Registrar of Societies, Shelter Baptist Church was born on 25th April 1987. Thirty-nine brothers and sisters in Christ had the honour and privilege of being Shelter’s charter members.

A distributor of premium AV brands with in-house professional audiovisual expertise, Loud Technologies Asia (LTAPL) is popular among AV System Integrators who look to them for reliable supply and backup with design and deployment of their projects.

01 Computer System, a major player in the audiovisual market in Singapore, turned to LTAPL for partnership in deploying a complete revamp of their client's house of worship AV systems.

With the existing systems nearing a decade in age, a complete overhaul of the systems was sought and finally awarded following proposals and on-site live demos.

A new networked Midas digital mixing console with remote stage boxes also feeds a HUB4 and DP48 personal monitoring system for the musicians to independently mix their own monitor feeds.

Existing point-source speaker systems made way for a stereo hung K-array KR202 system fed over digital AES/EBU link. This proven system provides for highly intelligible sound with even volume from the first seat to the back of the hall. This is a feature of the system most appreciated by the committee.

Video systems were completely replaced with full-HD projectors from Panasonic, fed from a new video distribution system served through a new multiformat streaming video mixer and PTZ cameras. The all-in-one video mixer not only allows for on-board recording of the program feed onto SD Card, but also provides PTZ camera control and a dedicated USB-C output for video streaming.
